nouvelle vague played their sultry/sexy/enticing set of bossa nova covers of punk/post punk/new wave [get it? nouvelle vague?!] classics @ the mohawk.
there were so many cute couples i nearly shit my jorts.

the madness @ booty bar + rebirth of brass band @ ace's lounge, january 2010
the adverb cantankerous just popped into my head.
[looked it up & found out its meaning & etymology]
the way this word sounds, more so than its actual definition, describes my current state of mind.
maybe it's a 1/3 life crisis.
almost 31 is old enough to be jaded, but not completely.
during the week i want to stay home all the time, but the weekend calls me out like some sort of siren in greek mythology. i wanna be a boring old dude, but won't let go of my partying ways.
maybe the fact that i'm questioning my lifestyle is a sign that my times they are a-changin'.

3 bars + 5 dj's + 1 horny immigrant = a dirty good time.
dj swamp is one crazy motherfucker! but he's a mad genius on the decks. got to see the beginning of his set @ barcelona & i'm so glad to have made it. last time i saw 'im @ red eyed fly, it was kind of a let down. this time, in the coziness of austin's only dirty/basement/dj/electronic-music bar, he killed!
next up my homeboy king louie joined forces w/dj digg + kid slyce of table manners crew to rippin' good times @ plush. gooch!
i stopped by creekside lounge right before closing time to say hi to my homeboy orión & got some choice snaps of the kids doing naughty/dirty things:

my homeboys from the table manners crew ripped it up, as usual, at your favorite neighborhood dive-bar/dj mecca: PLUSH! digg was once again deadly on the 1's & 2's.
got to hang w/my homegirl gio & her son/my homeboy michael, they were visitin' austin one last time before their move to rochester, ny. while i'm sure we'll all see each other again, it was comforting to know that y'all were a short drive away. i love you & michael like familia! wish you the best!
