this was pretty much it for me during free week oh.eleven.
i was totally drained from my 2 week xxxmas/nye staycation in austin.
started gettin' sick 'round this specific night.
a bummer, but did manage to get some much needed rest for these 30+ y/o bones.
my homeboy dialek fronts this 4-5 piece unit called the means.
they have been playing around austin for the better part of oh.ten & it feels like oh.eleven is gonna bring some well deserved attention their way.
the fellas opened up this hip hop showcase to a good crowd of headz. i was stoked to hear quite a number of new tracks they've been working on since i last saw 'em.

even though i missed @chromeo + holy ghost! @ stubb's, sammy bananas@booty bar, sharon jones & the dap kings @ la zona rosa; a great time was had @ red 7.
twas a night of hip hop & dark/progressive/rock @ red 7, quite a combination i must say.

was aksed to take fotos of revenants with my buddies allen idle on vocals and the most prolific drummer this side of the mason dixon, eric idle.
headed over to club de ville for a lil' sweaty dancin' w/the @peligrosa all stars and special guest @jess jubilee from the big apple.
errrbody was out in full effect, dancin', sweatin', drinkin', smokin' & most importantly lookin' all kinds o' HAWWWT!!!

went into red7 for a quick minute & took 3 shots of some band from houston[?].
hopped over to booty bar for another knuckle rumbler joint, ft. congorock; then left 'cause my main competition was all over that gig. orión & ulovei opened up the night all nice & stuff.

this year i did not get a chance to revel in the amazingness that is free week. it was free week on steroids. there were waaaaay more venues. waaaaay more bands. waaaay more fun. it seemed like a smaller/cooler version of sxsw. it all started waaaaay back in the evening january 8th, 2010. @ the mohawk i got to check out cartright. @ the parish the house was packed for auto body & l.a.x. @ booty barbetaplayer & prince klassen held it down.
finally caught up! dreary weather did not keep the true believers from gettin' their sauce on this evening. dropped in to say hi to my homies ryan & eric @ barcelona & caught a load of madclassy dub-step to my dome. hmmmmm... tasty! the dj melee is back! this time around friends @ red 7 hosted the throw-down. dj manny, dj bigface & orión rock'd the dex + dubb sicks MC'd + austen ross on percussion = a sick set! see y'all out this weekend! find out what's going on @ the peen scene. boom
this was the last time i took pictures of jon pettis... it's crazy to think that night was the last time some of us saw him. please come out on wednesday, 10/14/2009, for a memorial service @ hole in the wall.

barcelona's new friday night happy hour is surprisingly deviant from their usual electro dance parties. mrs. glass will be bringin' the blues every friday from 7-9pm. before your friday night debauchery, check out mrs. glass, have bryan serve you a cold one & enjoy some kick ass blues. bryan, dave & i bounced over to the jackalope for what i though was transmography... apparently i was pretty waaaaay off, but i did catch a few pix of a band that played before them. oops!
i somehow made it over to red 7 for the 3rd edition of grumpy fuck fest! jared's birthday celebration was pretty fuckin' rockin'! i got to catch pack of wolves rip'n it up in front of a very enthused crowd. it was an amazing show!
